Connecting to Wi-Fi at CCV Academic Centers on a Chromebook
The method for connecting to the wireless network at any CCV academic center is the same for students, faculty, and staff. Find the directions below for connecting using a device with the ChromeOS operating system.
Connection Instructions
- Click on the Network icon in the (lower-right corner). Then click on “No network” to choose a network.

- Choose the “CCV” wireless network

- Enter the following values for the fields:
- EAP method: PEAP
- EAP Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPv2
- Server CA certificate: Do not check
- Identity: your CCV username.
- Password: your CCV password.
- A note on your username and password: they are the same username and password you use to log into the Portal, Canvas and your CCV email. Your username is unique to you and will look something like abc01010.

There are a couple different problems that might affect your ability to log into a CCV wireless network at one of our academic centers. Most of those problems can be resolved by following one of these steps:
- Remove or forget the network connection (see directions below). You can then re-add it by following directions on the Wireless page.
- CCV passwords expire! This is one of the most common access issue. Follow these Password Reset instructions to change your CCV password.

Forget a wireless network
If you’re having trouble with a Wi-Fi connection a good troubleshooting step is to “forget” the network. Different computers and phones have different ways to do this. Please follow the directions below for the device you are using.
Windows 10
To forget a wireless network on a Windows 10 computer, click on the wireless icon in the taskbar. Then right-click on the CCV network and choose Forget.

iOS Mobile
Tap on the information icon next to the wireless network, then choose, “Forget this Network”.


Choose “Forget”.

The method for connecting to wireless networks at CCV academic centers is the same for students, faculty, and staff. Find the directions below for connecting using an iPhone.
Connection Instructions
- Launch the Settings app.
- Select Wi-Fi settings.
- Select the network CCV.
- Enter your username and password and tap Join.
This is the same username and password you use to log into the Portal, Canvas and your CCV email. Your username is unique to you and will look something like abc01010.
- Tap on Trust to accept the clearpass.vsc.edu security certificate, if it pops up.
- Once you see the checkmark by the CCV network, you are successfully connected.
